C6 Z06 Calipers on a 2002 C5 ? will they fit

I would like to upgrade my brakes by putting on new rotors and also going with the huge 2006-2008 Z06 calipers and pads on my 2002c5. Will the calipers mount up or do you need a c6z06 caliper bracket? just curious if anyone has done this, trying to upgrade without spending a fortune, and can get used ones off ebay or in craigslist allot cheaper? any help would be great, I am sure someone has tried this, I have upgraded my rims to 2007 Z06 chrome rims staggered 18 and 19 just like the z06. thanks for the help

No I didnt tub the rear, the rims do stick out a bit and may consider putting fender flares to protect the paint, did slice out a bit of the inner wheel wells as was the slightest of rubs. I don't see what this has to do with the brakes, they fit inside the wheel and since the same wheels are being used as a c6 z06 I am not worried about clearance issues, just mounting the caliper, I dont have yet but I can get front and rear z06 caliper set for $750 all 4, just need to see if anyone has tried this yet? usually brembro or wilwood would have kits, I am going for less money and stock z06 brakes which are huge upgrade from my 2002 which is great to begin with, any help from someone who has tried it would be great, hate to buy calipers I can't mount, thanks

I don't know the specifics, but during a stop at the BMW Performance Center by the One Lap of America race this year there was an entrant running an 02 vette and he had updated it to the new 6 puck Z06 brakes. His name is Rudy Arias and you can find some info on his entry on the '08 One Lap web site.

My friend has an 2000 Convertible and he put the C6 Z06 brakes on it. Did not have any problems bolts up. He just had to go to the 18 and 19 inch wheels. You said you had allready upgraded the wheels be sure that they will clear the calipers. Some of the aftermarket C6 wheel will not work with the C6 Z06 brake package. Good Luck, the C5 sure looks good with the C6 Z06 brakes.
