I am sure that some of you folks have a television in your garage.

I am planning on doing this in my finished garage soon, but just need to make some decisions.

Do you just put a TV on a shelf up in the corner of the wall near the ceiling and wire a power outlet and cable outlet?

Or

DO you get a flat screen TV and put inside the wall (behind the sheet rock) where the only thing visable is the TV screen.

The later is what I want, but just not sure if it is possible. I am thinking of a 19" inch flat screen televison and VCR/DVD player so I can also choose my car shows and races.

Thanks for any input.

I've seen flat panel TVs that lower from the ceiling with a remote! Sorta like pulling down a movie screen.

My new 30x50 garage will have a spiral stair to a loft - "The Motorhead Lounge" - and I will be moving our existing living room entertainment cabinetry there along with the 36" "old style" TV and JBL home theatre surround sound. I have another small stereo with 4 speakers for the garage proper. Gotta have tunes to work by!

A new big flat panel TV will replace the living room stuff going out to the "Lounge". Gotta compromise and keep the wife happy!

I have a 16' x 16' "retirement office" in the front corner of my garage with all the comforts of home including fridge, heat, A/C, computer, phone, cable, wall-mounted TV/VCR, etc., with a similar wall-mounted larger cable TV/VCR setup in the main work area. The wall mounts pivot, and are lagged through the drywall into studs; I designed the house, and had everything pre-wired to outlets placed exactly where the devices would be installed so I don't have a gaggle of wires/cables all over the place. :)
