Maybe this is the ATS V engine also.

Then again, this might be the engine for the rumored "entry level" Corvette.

GM Weaponry

An excellent engine - as long as it's reliable!! GM needs to keep the hammer down and Caddy has to keep up the momentum so that in a few years, they sink the knife into Lincoln. Yes, that's right, keep the substantial product coming to the point where Caddy simply overruns Lincoln and they go the way of Mercury. No tears...Just do it, on your way to running down Lexus and Acura!

Auto week reported the twin turbo in the A series Caddy as early as next year. That should be a hot little sedan.

You would typically want your entry-level engine to be cheaper to produce than the engine that it's replacing. In this case, there's a good chance that that's not true. This engine may be missing two cylinders, but it has all of the same tech as the LT1, plus lots of extra cams, valves, turbos, and all their associated inter-coolers, plumbing and control hardware. With all of that, it might even be heavier than an LT1...so, where's the savings/advantage? The C7 team claims that they already looked at this engine and decided that it fell short of their requirements in all areas...

Cadillac's competition is no longer Lincoln, it's European and Asian. Lincoln is shooting for a more traditionally-American flavor with their cars and I, for one, hope they're successful in their resurgence. Variety of choice is a good thing, no?
