CAGS Defeat Device

Have read about and experienced the CAGS and have acquired the defeat device from Ecklers.
Just need to get the thing installed. Looking to friends who may have ramps so this task can be completed.
Many thanks to MrsSchroder for the detailed and informative thread on this subject.

Last question..... the owners manual states you are not able to shift into reverse above 3 mph.
Would this feature also be eliminated with the CAGS Defeat Device?

I am in the same boat...have the thing to eliminate it, but no low profile jack or ramps yet to get under her....

Have you tried Rhino ramps? You can get them just about anywhere. I got mine at PepBoys for about $25-29. Is your car lowered?
I don't know about the 3mph reverse shift question... and I don't want to try it! I've never heard that was a side effect of the CAGS defeat.

Why would you want to shift into reverse at 3 miles per hour?? In my opinion, shifting into reverse would be a deliberate gear shift, not done by "accident".

When shifting from 4th to 5th a conscience effort has to be made in order to select 5th else you could end up in 3rd, not a good thing to do at a high speed. If too much of an effort is made to make 5th one could accidentally push too far right and inadvertently attempt to select reverse. Not nice grinding a pound of reverse, at any speed. It's not that I want to shift into reverse at 3 mph, it's I don't want to override a feature that would prevent it.
