I/Nay...I don't know how to answer...I don't have the CAGS eliminator, nor the harness unplugged. I used the Predator programmer and it got rid of the annoying lock itself. No light, no skip shift, just all out FUN!! :D

I've been thinking of getting a Predator programmer besides the CAGS disable was it worth the money? Do you have any mods done to your Corvette? My 2001 6spd Coupe is stock except for (2002) Z06 airbox lid w/ K&N filter and Z06 titanuim exhaust. Is it worth it for me to get a Predator or should I wait until I do the cam and headers, etc?

Thanks,
Frank

I do not know that much about the LS1, but my guess is that if you programmed it now you would have to do it again if you got a cam and headers? If that is the case you might as well wait, unless you can program it twice for different modifications with the same unit.

Say "I" or "Nay" if you have eliminated your CAGS feature in your Z06!!!!

Blackvette says:"I"
I tried, I really tried to NOT have the CAGS defeat, but gave in after repeatedly downshifting into third from fourth. Other times the car would bog down. My mind and my body actions told me I was going from first to second, but really I was in fourth. I hit third quite a bit. I tried to overcome this by revving it and accelerating off the line, but would forget sometimes. I see why they have it to save gas though as now, with the defeat I find myself in third when I should probably be in fourth. It has been about ten years since I drove a manual transmission, but at least now with the CAGS defeat, I know which gear I am in and am in full control.

No, you don't ignore it! You watch and wait, and every time it comes on you just shift into 2nd, feel that rush of joy from defeating the thing, and say "OH YEAH"! :D
Tammy, I'll drink to that!:beer . Its like I get SOOOO much satisfaction on seeing the light come on and having it go into second! It truly was the best $20 I have ever spent!

Not yet. But it will be done along with the BORLA stingers. I haven't owned the car two weeks yet and found that CAGs is a pain. Still trying to figure out at what RPM in first gear it it locks out 2nd gear!.

Put me down for YEA ....

I leaned to drive my '95 LT-1 with the skip shift and decided I wasn't going to deal with it on the Z06. I would pull it into neutral for a moment and usually pop it into third. It always seemed to lug the motor if you went to 4th. GM has to keep the EPA happy but I don't !!! ;)

NAY!!!

Drive it like you stole it and you'll NEVER be in a little old granny fashion to have the computer throw the code ON YOU! It's not the car, it's YOU that need it. I submit that the 2007 Z06 will not have a CAGS light that forces you to shift into 4th, it's going to put 120V to the driver's seat to WAKE YOU UP!!!!!! Come on Granny, it's a Vette, not a subaru!

I eliminated it, just removed the SLP CAGS eliminator from my '01 Camaro SS before I dropped it off and picked up the Z06 and put it on the Z06 the next weekend. I have a lift in the garage so it was pretty easy.

First thing I did on both Zs I've owned. Drove me nuts around town.
