Caliper seals installation

What type of sealant should be used when istalling the caliper piston outer dust boot? Will any type of silicone sealant do?

I just use a black RTV and lightly cover the seam between the boot and casting and around the boot and piston.

Any type of RTV silicone will work to seal those boots.

First, make sure the seal bore is clean. Then, smear a light coat on the sides of the outer seal's metal ring. Press the seal in place with an appropriate tool then smear more RTV a top the slight, v-shaped gap between the seal's metal ring and the seal bore in the caliper.
