Callaway in Holland!

Hi, Mario here, the one that took the pictures :D I'm still in contact with the owner of the '92 SNAT. Since he is in Holland only a few weeks a year (he's really busy right now) I did not have the chance to write down the VIN yet.. At this time the SNAT is not running due to a defective fuelpump.

Keeping you posted!

92 SNAT update.. sort of...
Here is little to no info update's on the 92 SNAT, its moved into the wintergarage and the owner is back in de USA, don't know for how long. The idea's to sell the SNAT are back in the freezer for now..
John how had some interest in the SNAT, now has a good looking C5 after totaling his upgraded C4...
That's it for now, the spring will bring new update's I hope!

Groeten Peter.
Peter - that means you have "dibbs" on the car now, right :upthumbs :v

Well, here an update!

Mario found out the "Callaway" was at a dealer for repears this week, so we drove to the place this morning.
We where lucky the Callaway was parked in the street a cross the dealer! So photocamera all the way. :D

Rumor is it's only the Aerobody without the Snat option :( So we got the vin on photo and is on the way to Joanne :)
Strangs things i saw on the vette is it looked like the body was repainted with the rear bumper still on it. No much but a few paintdrops between body and bumper (you know what i try to say..) The vette was original Polo Green, but i don't think this would happen when it was repainted by Callaway..
Next one, i missed the "tears" where the original c4 nose logo should be.. Of course could be removed when it was repainted i don't know.
Next there was a Callaway handwrited sticker on the steer, but the "C" was comming of :(
And it's an automatic; don't know if a snat is only for 6 gears? Think not but don't know for sure..
Here are some pic's of course.

I cannot believe the front tag bolted on the nose though :(
I've seen that quite a lot with Dutch & Belgian cars. Never on an aerobody though.

Let's hope it's double sided tape ;)

Hee here's my topic again :)

I think the plate was taped to the bumper! I can't beleave they would bolt a plate to this bumper..
Just some more info on this vette. Joanne didn't have this VIN in her system :(
Mario mailed back some info on this car and that it's original color was Polo Green. She replied there was one Polo Green Callaway send to Germany and she didn't have any info on it, but in Germany they had so she was looking in to it.
Few days later Mario got a mail the Polo Green Snat was a light interieur 6speed.
This one is a black interieur with automatic. So as far as we can look from the outside (and if Callaway has a oke system) it's 99% sure this is only a Aerobody without the Snat in it.. :( (the 1% is fools luck..)

So still a beautifull body! Was one great day..

Oow in the Netherlands and Belgium you also need a reg. plate at the front of your car. You don't.. No problem as long you don't see any police..

Greetings Peter.

Hi Pete, I don't know if a SNAT is like a TT but on the TTs Callaway actually give the car its own VIN number.

Hence when I phoned Callaway about my car before I bought it I checked the VIN and they had a record. Either way, even if Callaway didn't have it (I would hope they would!) there is a way of telling a TT from just the VIN.

Sure someone will explain that as I can't remember how they did it but I could probably look it up.

My documentation shows the Corvette's original VIN (that it must have had for a short while - from the time it was made to the time of conversion) and then the new Callaway VIN.

That Aerobody kit is pretty expensive - I don't know that many people would pay for the kit and go to the trouble of fitting and painting it on a non-Callaway. As far as I know it adds value to a genuine Callaway, even probably if I fitted one to mine which didn't have one originally.

I also know Callaway don't like selling Callaway parts to owners of non' Callaways though I bet they'd sell a body kit if you offer them $8000...

The Aerobody is fantastic looking IMHO, though did you see the Lingenfelter aero kit on a ZR1 I posted a few days ago. Man that is a looker too...

I copy/pasted your "Lingenfelter aero kit on a ZR1 thread" to our dutch forum ;)
What i love about the Callaway Aero Kit is that it has a function and it's not only show (side fends but oke) I don't know if the Lingenfelter kit also is a better aero concept than the original c4? Also the Aero bumper stay's in front of the car, normal c4 bumpers (better seen on the later c4's) have more like a "high" nose and then come back to the engine :(. The Callaway Aero (front) gives it a more Nascar (track) look to it i think. And i find the idea of the joint twin rear taillights just fantastic. It's stil a c4, but different. Very nice!

Looking forward to see you ad the Nurburgring Malc! :)

Greetings Peter
