I'm not a Callaway owner (at least not yet), but I am a Vette owner and I do check in here to see what's going on in the Callaway world. Which brings me to my question for Callaway experts - How many (if any) Callaways were made from 40th anniversary ZR-1's?

If there are any, when was the last time anyone heard of one for sale?

Thanks and keep up the good work on the forum.

I can't recall ever seeing a 40th CR1 but *89x2* would know if anyone would.

Surf, thanks :-)

Welcome Vettecpl to the Callaway Forum at the :CAC

To answer your question, while there had been some discussion on someone possibly doing this a few years ago, no 40th Anniv. ZR1's were done by Callaway.

Here is a thread from before: http://www.corvetteactioncenter.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7703&highlight=40th+zr1 :cool

The good news is, since that thread, the molds have been re-made and you can now get the wider ZR1 AeroBody from Callaway again :cool

You mentioned having a Corvette - is that what you have?? A 40th ZR1?

Again Welcome :beer

Thanks for the info and the welcome - I knew this would be the place to come for anwers!

Actually we don't own either a ZR-1 or a 40th anniversary. The question arose from a discussion of the large number of owners groups/registries in the Corvette community. I wondered what single Corvette would give the owner access to the most oweners groups/registries?

My guess was a Callaway ZR-1 40th anniversary which would allow the owner access to 3 groups. I didn't ever remember seeing or reading about one, hence the question to the forum. Would be nice car eh?

We do own 3 Corvettes - a 98 Pace Car, a Grand Sport (#730) and a 66 small block coupe. Mrs. VetteCpl usually drives the Pace Car, I usually drive the GS, and we use the 66 for vintage rallies. As they say: "You can't have too many Corvettes".

Well, you certainly would kill 3 birds w/ one stone :cool

While I have seen Grand Sport Callaway SuperNaturals and 40th Anniv. SNAT's, there was also a 95 Pace car suspected of being built - but the records did not turn up...
Also, the CR-1's were made, adding to the list of the Callaway Corvettes in two categories :cool

but three... looks like it might have to be built :cool

...another option, if your GS is a Convertible, send it to Callaway Cars and then you would have a 1 of 1, as no Convertible GS's have been built - Yet. :cool
