Can someone please post the details on the cars that were at Auction, James Cameron's Black Speedster, the Red Super Speedster, and the red C12 ??

What they sold for if they sold, etc.

Thanks,

-Luigi

Black Speedster, no sale - bid to mid 100's
Cherry Smash Speedster, no sale -bid to 245k did not meet reserve.
Red C12, SOLD - reported 150k :cool
White 88 anniv. B2K, no sale - reserve was in the mid 30's

Hope this helps :m

The C12 didn't sell in the auction. It went to ~$110k and then pulled off. I'm guessing there was a private negotiation afterwards.

Hope every one had a safe trip. Sounds like it was fun. Did anyone get any prices on the 87 and black 91 vert B2K's that were to be there at auction. Was there any other Callaway's at auction Snat's? Thanks for any info

Hmm, I don't recall seeing the '87 or '91. I thought that I had walked through the entire auction area, but maybe not. The big dollar cars (C12 & Speedsters) were all parked under the main tent front and center. The "Be-Cool" car was sitting 100 yards from their outside amidst the rest of the auction cars. Did anyone else see any other Callaways out there parked on the fairway for auction?

The red C12 hardtop reportedly sold for $150K in a post auction deal. It would have taken $260K to buy the Cherry
Smash Super Speedster... soooooo close at $245K. I think there was some strategy involved there. As in the bidder did not want to meet the reserve. James Cameron's Speedster made it to $150K and was a no sale. That was more than a fair price for that car and the bid should have been accepted. The silver Speedster sold at Carlisle two summers ago for about $120 and it's a cleaner car.

The only other Callaway I seen run through the auction was the white 1988 35th Automatic. It was a no sale I think final bid was $23,500. Car looked like it had some issues. Would have like to see car on a hoist before I would have bid besides the fact that I can't seem to get sold on the automatic Callaways. But thats just me. :) By the way that car ran friday afternoon.
