I have some questions about C1 clutches.

1. Do 10' & 10 1/2" clutches use the same flywheel?
2. Anyone have any feedback on "Luk" brand clutch set ups?
3. Where is a good place to purchase a clutch set?
4. What is the height of the stock pivot ball and has anyone used the aftermarket adjustable type?
5. Is the 1 1/4" throw-out bearing the correct one to use?

2. Anyone have any feedback on "Luk" brand clutch set ups?

I have a lux in my 427/425 car and it has stood up very well,I drive the car HARD and have never had a problem with it.

3. Where is a good place to purchase a clutch set?
I purchased mine thru paragon reproductions.

You can buy LUK repsets here
http://www.dialaclutch.com

don't add engine displacement to the search function it won't work. Can get a small block clutch for a 65 (maybe same for big block???) for $144 shipped. They come with pressure plate, TO bearing, clutch disk, alignment tool, and lube for the splines.

I have one in my 67 327-35o hp. Been in for 8 years, NO PROBLEMS.

Recommend you also replace the pilot bushing at the same time.

LuK "RepSet" clutches are excellent - they're the largest clutch manufacturer in the world, and supply most of the OEM clutches these days (including the Viper 12" clutch, which has proven superior to any of the Viper "tuner" clutches).

You shouldn't need an adjustable pivot ball if you're using a stock bellhousing; all Corvettes use the 1-1/4" T.O. bearing - the longer one (1-3/4") is for passenger car applications.

Can I run the 11 inch clutch on 66, using the stock M-20 with stock bellhousing? I pulled my old clutch and the disc measures 11 inches across, so I'm assuming I can.

Thanks,
Doug

Thanks for all the replies. Looks like I'll be getting one from "dial-a-clutch".

FYI,

If you are looking to buy a LUK repset clutch, you might give PepBoys a call if you have one in your area. The sell the LUK brand.

I picked up the 04-049 set for $129.99 plus tax.

A little cheaper than dialaclutch, by the time you pay standard shipping.
