Calling Mad-Mic

Yeah, who tuned your car Mic?

Mic, are you done with my laptop yet? I need to get my car ready in case I can't get the height exemption... Maybe I can get it this weekend?

yes.

for some reason i was having troubles to get it to sync up today. last time i tried it when you first loaned it to me i had troubles but eventually it did. i'd like to see if it's going into open loop now.

lose the mufflers thats about 20-30 hp and 50 lbs. buy a front Y pipe from a 85-86 used or from ecklers or mid am with out the pre cats. you don't need them. 85 and 86 didnt' come with them. with that setup and a handfful of mods with a gutted cat i went a 13.26 @103 mph on a 1.81 60' time

Thanks for the info. Let me get one thing straight. I've had a lot of guys tell me that the only way to remove the cats is to render the car to the track only. Because by removing the cats the car would never pass emisions. (NJ & eastern PA) But what I am hearing in this thread is that if the car is tuned properly I should not have any problems?
A 13.26 would be way cool with my Vette! Again thanks alot for the reply.

Do you MD guys ever get up to Englistown NJ. I run in the East Coast Corvette Challenge. Presently there are 87 Vettes running in it. You don't have to be signed up to run in any the races, just show up in your Vette.

i've been meaning to catch a race but 30 bucks in tolls and gas to get there i'm alittle reluctant unless i trailer the car. would hate to break my rear up at E-Town 120 miles away :L

I removed the pre-cats on my 1987 Z51 and replaced them with a 2 1/2" Y from Mid America (I think?). My car never had a problem with Maryland's inspection requirement. In fact, the last time I had to take the car, it "fast passed" and didn't have to run the whole loop. Apparently if you are low enough on the first segment of the test, they don't bother with the rest. Since it's some state-employee chowderhead gunning my car on a wheel, I was quite glad he only had to do it for about 30 seconds. Heck, at first he parked the front wheels on the rollers and started to get out when I mentioned to him that it was a rear wheel drive car... :eyerole
