If anyone wants the CAM specs that was in the Callaway Registry show car, David and I will gladly pass them on to you.

Best improvement on the 4+3 was this CAM and a 3.33 or 3.54.
Suggest that you have the computer controlled automatic "up" and "down" removed. Make it manual only! Loss of MPH to RPM is is reasonable with both rear axles.

Best improvement on the ZF was this CAM with a 3.73 or 3.91.
Actually, the 3.91 was acceptable but I liked the 3.73 better. More MPH tp RPM range.

I have all the performance numbers with each setup if anyone wants them.

I can tell you this CAM really wakes up the car throught the full RPM band.

Email me directly............

Everyone have a great day,

Stan:) :w

Stan, why not just post the specs to the forum?

Stan outlined why he didn't want to post it here on the forum in the email he sent me. It was a valid reason.

CAM Question

Josh,

Check your CAC personal email.

Take care,
Stan

I know this is old tread, but is there anybody who has the cam specs
onhand?

Wow, this is a VERY old thread :eek

While I never saw the specs for the cam mentioned at the top of this thread, I do know that the past few B2K's serviced in Old Lyme left with stock camshafts - but with 1.6:1 roller rockers :cool Obviously the rocker will change the geometry, acting to enhance the profile of the camshaft. :cool

Possibly some others who have chnaged their cams or had this service can chime in - I hope this helps :beer

I ask Reeves about changing the cam in my 87 to the gm hot cam,(zz3 I think). He said not to in the 87 with the smaller turbo's, It would be ok on the 88 and newer. This was serveral years ago.

I did ask CamMotion by typing the specs to them.
With 3" open exhaust, afr heads and bigger boost the cam specs they give was. 214/210 lift .531/.514 with 1.6, lobe center 114.

I take that orginal was standard L98 cam?
202/207 lift .413/.428 with 1.5, lobe center 114.5.

My understanding is, all the TT left Old Lime with stock L98 camshafts. AS for the ZZ3 cam, I've been saying, that's the cam to go with, ever since I drove my first TT. But if you do go with the ZZ3 cam, checking for clearances is a must. I found out earlier this summer, that one of my TT's had a different valve guide on the exhaust side, which was stuck up higher, and would definitely cause an issue with more lift. The ZZ3 cam has a fair amount of lift.

zz3 cam specs are I:208 E:221 lift I:0.474 E:0.510,
lobe center 112.

Not saying that it would not work, but
for mine understanding turbo cam should have
same degrees for intake and exhaust or little more in the intake side. Also the lobe center should be between 114-116? So it seems like zz3 is not optimal turbo cam?

FYI, Current Callaway recommendations is to stick with the stock CAM.

I don`t see the point of that if I use much better heads (afr), stealth ram intake, 58mm throttle body..etc.. and bigger more modern turbos.

It`s one thing to keep tt stock but I would like to get little more power from the engine.

In this case, the turbos are doing all the work. heads and cam play a smaller role.

yes, the 112 center will bleed off a little, but not enough to cry about, especially since you're increasing duration and lift. I used the ZZ3 with a supercharger and had excellent results.

The 91 speedster cam is available on callaway's website I believe.

Here is the info, but i dont know the specs on the cam.

SKU#: 202.42.0451
Our Price: $360.86

TT3

But, like I said. Their current engine building philosophy is to stick with the stock cam.
