I have no other vacume source, except the powerbrakes. other than very sma;; port for dist. can I hook the pcv line onto the power brakes?

Dont recommend it, the vacuum will be low due to the flow back from the pcv valve. Is there no other port on the intake you can put a fitting into?

I have no idea what kind of manifold or year car you have but most stock SB have a threaded plug right behind the rear of the carb in the manifold that can be used as a vacuum source. I think it is a 3/8 pipe plug and you use a breaker bar that fits the square to remove it. This will work to provide vacuum for the brakes.

Are the power brakes attached to the intake or the carb? What is your intake/ carb set up that you have only one source of vacuum?

If you are worried about vacuum, make the connection and put a vacuum gauge on the line headed to the brakes. If the vacuum reading is good then you should be good to go.

Don't know your intake/carb setup, but if it's a Quadrajet there should be a tap at the back of the carb for a vacuum source. Most are used as the power brake line. There should be a 3/8" tap at the front of the Q-jet (between the mixture screws) for PCV. Most carbs have a 3/8" tap for PCV, most intakes have a fitting for your power brakes. Can you elaborate on your setup-and maybe we can be more helpful?

it has a airgap manifold and a holley 750dp the only fitting on the manifold for vacume sits just under the rear fuel bowl, absolutley noway to get a fitting in there..

Dang-that's too bad. I didn't realize a Holley 750 DP does not have provision for PCV. Are you sure you have no hose barb on that carb? Or, at least, a plugged port at the base of the carb that you can remove the plug and screw in a hose barb for PCV?

The suggestion to "T" into the power brake hose is the way to go, I guess. I might suggest the next time you have the intake off, drill and tap for a fitting at a suitable location.

You may also want to run a vacuum canister (for big cams) to ensure you will have adequate reserve for your brakes. Hope this helps...:)

So ... exactly where is the vacuum source that is currently pulling your brake booster?

hey guys....I have the same setup with a Demon 650 and an Air Gap.....I drilled and tapped the side of the manifold and inch below the carb baes and ran one fitting off of there for the brakes and lights and then the fitting on the back of the carb hooks to the PCV....

email me and Ill send you pics if you like.

Edelbrock makes a low-profile brass vacuum fitting specifically for that Holley application, that fits underneath the rear float bowl.

Its a nice piece......but I havent tried it yet.......the Edelbrock one is STILL too tall......you need a 1/2 inch carb spacer but then you have ood clearance problems if you dont have a BB hood...
