I am having some issues with some leaking / blow by of my header gasket. I installed a custom (non-GM / Corvette) header and have had an issue with getting a complete seal. I may be looking at getting a new set of bolts to secure the header.

I am curious, if I doubled up the gasket, would that help or make it worse ??

Are your sure the header mounting flang is not warped? I don't think 2 gaskets will help, but I never had to try 2.

they make different thickness of gaskets, but first put a straightedge on the flange to check for straitness.

I installed Percy's aluminum gaskets. They're made of soft aluminum and compensate somewhat for imperfections --- and they're reusable.
