I am cleaning up my rear end suspension and chasis. I want to paint my rear end cover... but it will rust out again if I do not treat it with something. Can I use POR-15, and then use silver cast paint over that?

Thanks, Dave

Definitely. POR15 recommends painting over it because it doesn't do well with UV rays. It doesn't deteriorate the paint it just gets kind of chalky. I have painted over almost all of my pieces.

I'm pretty sure they recommend using one of their paints to paint over POR-15.
CAN I PAINT OVER POR-15 WITH OTHER PAINTS?
Absolutely. POR-15 will accept all paints, including lacquer-based paints. POR-15 Tie-Coat Primer is the best prime coat to use before topcoating POR-15. Be sure to read thoroughly our directions and tip sheets regarding topcoating before using POR-15.
Whether it really makes a difference which paint you use, is unknown to me. ;shrug
