Still working on my air distribution problem, blows from defrost vent only; I have the AC Programmer removed and put an extension hose on the black vacuum source input to the programmer, hooked up the electrical connector, ran the engine. Outside temp was 59 so I set the electronic temp control to 85 and then selected AUTO, then dash and floor, then just dash, then just floor; each time I checked for vacuum at the programmer and never had any. So either the programmer is defective or the temp controller is not telling it what to do. There are no codes displayed in the temp controller.

But what bugs me is that my A/C compressor would short cycle when I was doing this. WHY? Like I said it was the outside temp was showing 59 on the temp controller and I had selected 80 and even 85, so why would the A/C compressor be cycling??

Has my temp controller completely wigged-out or something?????

I just want to get this fixed....do I replace both the temp controller and the programmer???

NOTE: I have the C68 or Electronic HVAC.

AARRRGGGHHHH!!!!!!!!

I'm not much for wrenching - I know so little that I'm not clear from your post if you've checked this item or not - but here goes for what its worth.

I once had a problem with my '94 blowing warm air through the defroster/dash only and it turned out to be the A.C. Vacuum Switch... a little part that cost me about $10 bucks for my mechanic to replace.

May or may not help. Good luck with it.

Sounds like the controller is still set on defrost. That explains the A/C cycling and no change in the vacuum output. The switch contacts inside may be fried or the plastic tab on the switch rotator may have snapped off which would allow you to move the switch, but nothing changes.
Start with the selector and if that doesn't work move down the vacuum lines toward the actuators.

Is this for the manual temp control? What switch rotator? I have the electronics temp control.
