Question: Can the 6L90 Automatic be employed with the LS7-427 Corvette Convertible?

Can someone offer me a detailed explanation as to why GM could not adapt the Auto Trans for the ZL1 Camaro, the 6L90, and make it an offering for the 2013 427 Corvette Convertible? Production numbers from 2012 indicate that over 65% of all Corvette production were automatic equipped cars; clearly the sales potential for an Auto 427 could have made this Collector Model record breaking.

It would have meant certifying another new powertrain in a platform that's only going half a model year more.

Plus, 427 Convertibles are already constrained to dealers because of limited availability of the engines. What could with more demand do if GM cannot already meet what they have.

The 427 Convertible will have record sales even without an automatic.
