Interesting, but not "quite" correct - both ZL-1's had heaters and defrosters; 1968 was the first year for FMVSS (Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards), which required (among other things) that every car have a windshield defroster to ensure driver visibility in inclement weather. 1967 was the last year you could legally build a car without a heater/defroster. :)

Also, John, it states that the ZL-1 was factory-rated as 435 gross horsepower. I remember the L-88 and ZL-1 as both factory-rated as 430 gross.

I don't think I've ever read a Corvette article without some errors.....except for yours, John. :D
