My wife and I fly out tomorrow morning to pick up our 1st Corvette.

It's taken WAAAAYYY to long to get to this point and I gotta admit, I probably won't sleep tonight.

I feel like a little kid at Christmas.

I'm sure I'll have lots o questions in the future, but for now.....

I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D

Congratulations. Tell us all about it. :beer

We're excited for you as well so tell us about your Corvette and take lots of photos to share here once you bring home the prize. Don't worry if you're not certain how to upload them ,we'll help with that too.

congrats on the first corvette purchase. You have come to the right place. There's a wealth of information here. I just recently picked up my first Vette as well. It's an exciting time! Welcome to CAC

I'm sorry I didn't give any specifics the other night.

Well, we got back about 5 hours ago. So here's a quick rundown.

Neither my wife nor I got much sleep the other night.

We flew out of State College, Pa to Jacksonville, FL. yesterday morning. 24 degrees and snowing when we left. Mid 60's at arrival in Jacksonville.

John, the seller, picked us up at the airport and after a couple hours to get the paperwork and money taken care of and some lunch.....we were on the road home. We really would have liked to have stayed a few days but there was a "window" in the weather so we jumped on it. An overnight stay in NC, and we made it back to PA just in time to beat the snow tonight. We're supposed to get 6-10" overnight and tomorrow.

Anyhow, our new baby is a 2000 Lt. Pewter metallic with the light oak interior. 29,000 miles, Auto, hud, dual zone a/c, power sport seats, both tops, polished wheels. It's an NCM delivery car and we were provided all the documentation from the previous owner.

We have a good friend who has let us borrow hic '97 several times including our 25th anniversary weekend getaway at Watkins Glen. Every time we've borrowed his car, we hated to give it back.

Well, as we're about 5 miles away from home today, my wife started crying. I asked her what was wrong, and she said she just realized that we didn't have to give the car back. It's really ours and we love it!

Thanks for all your best wishes.

Right ater we got home, I took the car to the fire station for a wash and one of the guys took a couple shots. A soon as he emails the to me, I'll post them.

And here's what I woke up to this morning.

My son and I race a shifter kart and I have it scattered all around the garage for the winter rebuild.
This entire deal came up so fast I didn't have a chance to get it put back together so the baby had to sit outside overnight. Being a Florida car, this is the first snow the car has seen. And hopefully the last.

Fortunately I was able to pick up a good 4 layer cover and put that and a plastic tarp over the car before it snowed.

I spent all day today putting the kart back together so now the car's inside in the warm and dry.

welcome to CAC!!!:welcome
