Even though I will be keeping my car in the garage through the winter, I've been debating whether or not to buy a car cover. Am I going overboard? I intend to start it up and drive it on nice days (we do have some here in Massachusetts) Any opinions would be appreciated. If yes, what's a good cover to purchase?....Thanks

I too have been wondering if you should garage and cover. i dont have a vette yet, but i wouldnt want to get one and have it stored for winter improperly. but i would also like a cover if i ever go on a road trip to somewhere, cuz i have familly all over, and would like somthing to throw over the car if they dont have a garage, but i dont want to go through a 15 minute process of puttin it on and off every time i drive the car. so if ya can tell me about some quick, easy, and effective covers it would really help. thx guys.

I garage and cover.... I do it because the car stays cleaner (helps stop dust etc.) and if any animals come in and get on the car (mainly cats) they can't scratch the paint... It also stops scratches from people walking by it etc. I use the all weather cover from ecklers, I think it is an evolution 4, I originally bought it so I could leave the car outside though, if you have a garage all you really need is the basic dust cover

I garage and don't cover. My car isn't driven during winter, but it is started every few weeks. The garage is secure, so no animals can walk across it, and I think it's better to have it uncovered than to uncover/recover it every few weeks over the winter (so I can get in and run it). I don't know if it makes too much difference either way, so do whatever you're most comfortable with. Just my $.002

:)

The jet is in the attached garage that we go in and out of quit frequently. So the cover protects the paint in case you rub against it or if your work bench is near by and you get crazy slingging things around.
Just remember if you cover your car make sure that it is clean. Don't cover your car while it is still hot. etc. etc. etc. I always put the california mop to the jet before I put the cover on. Oh and when I pull the cover off I pick it off, don't drag it off just in case something got underneath that might scratch the paint.

Good Luck

Absolutely use a cover in the garage. I have used covers in the garage for about 18 years and it makes all the difference. I also park in a garage at the office and usually use the cover there as well.

One last thing, whatever you do, don't get one of the covers made from the Kimberly Clark material. It is basically soft, washable paper and is total junk. Get the polycotten or some such. It will last longer, be more easily washed and much more tear resistant.

Good luck,

thanks guys, im gona garage and cover when i get my vette, although i have no pets or kids, i dont want it to get dusty or anything, plus accedents could happen, and i wouldnt want a scratch.
