Ok just did some minor upgrades, headers, exhaust. I have an 84 with the crossfire. I used the accel header plugs(gapped to 0.045). Put it all back together and car is being stubborn. It will start for a second then turn off. I've got good spark and fuel to the TB's. All vac lines are good. Can the map sensor effect the starting? Thanks in advance

Cranky Cross-Fire

There are a lot of things that could cause this problem. One of the things you need to watch on a Cross-Fire engine ('82 & '84) is the seal around the top plate of the intake manifold. Be sure all the bolts stay tight (there's a lot of them). This gasket surface is skinny, so it's easy to get a leak there.

map sensor won't cause it.

only runs for a second?...or does it just fire veeerrrry briefly?

check fuel pressure...could be new pump time (easy job on vettes)

This is a hunch...look at the wires that connect to the starter...You may have pinched them between something when you put the headers in...they also get brittle and corroded after 20+ years of heat.

Runs briefly

There's a switch that senses oil pressure once the engine starts. If that switch doesn't close (or its lead is broken or disconnected) the engine will shut off after about 1 second when the fuel pump is disabled by the oil pressure sense switch. The sensor is at the back of the intake manifold near the gauge oil pressure sensor and behind the distributor. Check that the wire is connected and not broken. Also the sensor could be bad (not big$).
Hope you cure it.
