There's a C3 (not certain what year - chrome bumpers, anyway) a few miles from me, in pretty poor shape, with a for sale sign. Let's put it this way, if you've seen the condition of Chris's car "Killer," before the restoration... this car looks even worse.

But if someone who lives near here wants to strip it for parts, I could stop by the guy's house, next time I drive by, and ask him for more details.

parts car

I need a bird cage for my 71 coupe, can you tell what the condition is?

Thanks

Bill

Maine Shark - If you could just point me in the right direction...I live in Waterville, Maine.... I wouldn't mind taking a Sunday drive. Any possibility that it could be saved??

The car isn't exaclty in wonderful condition. It's already been partially stripped.

If anyone is interested, it's located on Rt 109, between Sanford and Wells, just north of the power lines. If you head north from Wells, you'll go under the lines, then over a little bridge, and it's on the left hand side just as you are coming down the ramp.

what is a bird cage? really?
The bird cage is the metal structure inside the fibreglass skin.

Fibreglass does not have much structural value when used as it is with Vettes, so to make the cars safe, there is a complete metal structure inside but, since it is metal, the rust monster likes to eat it. Since many of us buy Vettes to restore, the birdcage is always a concern. It doesn't matter how pretty the paint is- if the birdcage is shot.
