Am considering adding headers along with a ram air intake to my C6. Does anyone know how and if these modifications will affect the warranty on my car. Any info will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
JK

Hi there,
Depending on the type of header system you install, certain codes can be set, and drivability problems could occur.
These would not be covered by your warranty. They must be able to diagnose and correct the condition, caused by factory defect, not modifications for horsepower.

Thanks for the info. Am planning on installing the B&B longtube headers. I'm concerned that when the catalytic convertors are removed for good if there will be a check engine light as a result of the o2 sensors not getting a reading? Also a friend of mine had a home made ram air system installed. His check engine light has come on, a call to the OnStar personnel told him it was a problem with his air to fuel ratio being off. Can this be reconciled through a "tune". His car runs very strong despite the check engine light. Big improvement on power.

Thanksjk

HI there,
Yes, you will set codes if the converters are removed. If you are using o2 simulators, then your air/fuel ratio will be off and performance problems will occur.
Your friend, I would put the air box back on, as the P0171.P0174 probably set, creating more of a power loss than the air system gave him.
