Hey everyone,

I tried to install Holley 4160 carb. I hook everything up, but I get fuel leaking out of the dual inlets. It is leaking where the fuel lines go into the carb.

Should there be an 0-ring or gasket?
I tightened it pretty snug. I'm afraid too tight and i'll brake something.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks!

Got a good photo of your carb and inlet fittings? Photo below shows the stock Holley on my '69 Z/28; is yours leaking where the tube fittings go into the large inlet fittings, or between the large inlet fittings and the float bowls? There should be a skinny metal gasket between the large inlet fitting and the float bowls, none on the tube nuts.

Mine is leaking where the tube nuts go into the inlet fittings.
I have the skinny gasket between the float bowls and the fittings.
How tight should the tube nuts be on the inlet fittings?

I really like the fuel lines. Are they stainless steel?
Did you get them as a kit, or bend them yourself?

Those are the 40-year-old plain steel original factory lines - I never use stainless for either brake or fuel lines, as it's very hard, difficult to double-flare, the flares crack easily, and the hard flares can damage the soft brass seats in mating fittings. Torque on the tube nuts is 10-14 foot-pounds; hold the large hex on the inlet fitting while torquing the tube nuts, and use a line wrench (not an open-end wrench) so you don't round-off the hex on the tube nuts.
