Hey everyone, I need help!

Saturday I drove the car for several hours with no problems. It was 95 degrees outside. I stopped for dinner (took about an hour). Started the car, and within 30 seconds it stalled. It wouldn't restart. I popped the hood, took off the air cleaner. I saw fuel dripping onto the secondary throttle plates, fuel bubbling up the vent tube, and some coming out between the carb and the carb/intake gasket. Everything was so hot I could barely take off the air cleaner.

I let everything cool off. A friend suggest i tap on the back of the carb in case i had a sunk float. Then the car started with no leaks and everything seemed normal. I immediately drove the 30 miles home without any trouble.

What in the world happened? Vapor Lock? Stuck Float? Both?
I've never had vapor lock happen before, so I don't know what that would cause (other than a stopped car).

Any help is appreciated.
THANKS!

Most likely got a piece of debris under the needle valve, not letting the fuel shut off. Another good way to clear this out is to start engine then pinch off gas line until carb runs out of fuel. then unpinch line, When you restart then fuel will flow in fast and usually wash the debis from under the needle valve
