Carl Edwards gets 3 weeks probation from NASCAR

NASCAR considers that it is "racing" when the drivers bump, grind and wreck each other. In my opinion there is no place for it. Indy Car doesn't have to do any of that to have good racing. Truth be told they can't do any of that in open wheel. ALMS doesn't do it either, with a notable exception in the last race in 2009.

There can be good racing without on-track combat. I don't watch much NASCAR anyway, I prefer Indy Car and ALMS. I think that the racing is more exciting, especially ALMS with all of the different classes on the track at once. Indy Car went into the last race in 2009 with 3 people who had a chance to be the series champ. During the season there were something like 12-14 series points lead changes. How is that for exciting? No one wrecked the other guy to ensure their points victory.

...and Montoya Efforts?

Nobody's saying anything about Montoya's hard driving effort that would have likely won him the "race" if moron Edwards didn't intentionally destroy the last handful of laps?

NASCAR is a FARCE and everyone knows it. I hope the declining economy cleans it off the motoring landscape.

NASCAR - Redneck entertainment at it's best, the WWF of racing!

Boy that sends a great message. Go ahead try and kill somebody but just that you didn't mean to! NASCAR has become a total joke now. I hope Brad wrecks Carl this Sunday. They've shown that it doesn't really matter.

Told ya ,NASCAR doesn't have balls .It brought attention to NASCAR which means money .If he had killed Brad they would have given him a weekend off and thats it.;shrug

From SpeedwayMedia.com:

"This call appears to be a direct message to Brad Keselowski, without ever mentioning his name. It is clearly telling Brad, that if he keeps letting overly aggressive driving take the place of what he lacks in talent and experience, he must face the consequences. If you have watched Brad last year in the Nationwide and the Cup series you could see the pattern. He launched himself to the front of the field on many occasions by attempting to take out the driver’s that he could not out drive. Most notably of those were Carl Edwards and Denny Hamlin."

at the last NHRA National Event, the studs sheared-off an axle, allowing a slick & wheel to bounce over the wall, into the stands, killing a spectator:
imagine what would've happened if the car would've entered the stands
:ohnoes

while accidents are part of auto racing, this was no 'accident', as Edwards had intent, yet goes unpunished because he is a smiling pretty-boy with pearly-Whites, bulging-abs, does back-flips, has an 'Awww, shucks' demeanor on-camera, and races for a premiere team in the Series:
had Kirk Shelmerdine or Joe Nemecek done this, think they'd receive this little slap on the wrists?

would NASCAR acted differently had there been a fatality?

I am leaning your way heavily. Giving nascar my tv "hit" when I do watch it is really starting to irritate me.
