if you watched Homestead on TV or were among the fortunate few who saw it in person, you just witnessed the greatest final 30 laps ever in a stock car race.
Two drivers, who couldn't be more different in personality and style and certainly not in how they ran during the season, went head-to-head in an epic contest, and the best guy won. The points chased ended in NASCAR's first ever tie with the title going to Stewart in a most-wins tiebreaker.
It was a classic Chevy vs Ford contest at well with Chevrolet once again proving what manufacturer has its stock car act together.
In the end, ole Smoke got his third Cup, was the first driver/owner to win a Championship in 19 years and joins a very short list of drivers who've won three or more titles.
The second place finisher, on the track and in the points, Carl Edwards also put in a drive worthy of a championship. Had he performed better during the chase he'd have won.
Edwards confirmed what many already knew, that he's one of the classiest drivers in the sport by being the first competitor to congratulate Champion, Tony Stewart.
All in all, it was a heck of a day at Homestead. I'm glad to say I watched the whole thing unfold on my bigscreen.
