One post away from banning
Here are some pics I got at Carlisle, Watkins Glen and the Southern Tier Corvette club show I hit on the way back. I never show my car, but it was for Katrina victims, and my friend twisted my arm. I'm glad he did. My car is going to be featured in a TV show called Wheels in Motion, and I also won Best in Show. :D

This is probably the first and last show I will enter as I'm not really into the trophy thing or having people pick apart my car. It was participant judged and I must say it felt really good when they announced my car. It's nice to know people who either have, or have built their own car appreciate yours. Made feel good after the cruise night the night before when some idiot was telling me my left wheelwell wasn't as round as my right. :eyerole

If anyone that lives in Ny./Pa. and watches the Wheels in Motion show I would appreciate it if you could tape it for me as we do not get it in Jersey. I'll gladly reimburse you for all costs to get me a copy. Thanks

I didn't get alot of Carlisle pics. Only took some on Sunday afternoon.

Great pictures. Gotta love it when a solid axle guy takes pics at a show. The only complaint I have is that you could have left out that pic of the stretched Cobra. I'll have nightmares for sure over that image.

Congrats on the show win. Not too many can claim 100% first places in all of the shows they've entered. :D

Thank you for sharing the pictures, as well as including non-corvette cars.

Lots of nice ones for sure.

Yes, not my "cup of tea" either.

Please don't hold me to it, but if I see this "Wheels in Motion" I will tape it for you.

I'm glad you liked the pics. I was going to only do the Vettes but figured people might like to see them all. The Cobra was ah ...... different to say the least. That Z16 Chevelle was an awesome car that was actually gasp driven to the show. I love Watkins Glen because of the variety of cars you see there.

There used to be a Z16 locally back in '71 or 2 that I'd see occasionally. I wonder what ever happened to it. It was dark blue.

I am suprized to here this was your cars first trophy . But it makes sence if it was its first show. I seen your car at carlilse years ago and its very atractive and apealing. there always seams to be a crowd around it when I see it there.

Congradulations on the trophy as it was well deserved.Nice pictures thanks for shairing. Looks like the same photos I took at carlilse.

So How many mile do you have on the car from this year.

Congrats on the award. I don't get that show on Long Island. My wife and I went to the event and missed seeing you there. I would have recognized your car for sure. Did you participate in any of the Stone Bridge events? We were in the Logan Ridge Founders tour and the antique auto show event at the track. I passed that black Ferrari 275 on the main straight when we did the "parade" laps. That event totally rocks. We've been participants for the last 4 years and except for a bad tank of Sunoco 93 in Roscoe which gave me some pinging, the car ran flawlessly.

Larry,

Thanks. Its probably the last show it'll be in so I will always have a perfect win record :D I just can't deal with all the nit pickers. I would say I've probably got 5-6k miles on it so far this year.

I was in the Glenora run. Unfortunately there was a mixup downtown and they parked some of us on a side street. :mad I've been doing it for about 11 years now. I only missed the first year I think. Due to many MG's, Triumphs, and the like our parade laps were parade laps which sucked. Some of those cars can barely make it up the hill. If you look at the one picture of the saddle tan 63' you can see the British car badge of honor on the license plate. When they start those things they spew oil, I got one too.:L . All in all still a great place to spend a weekend. How'd ya like the $3.70 a gallon super up there ?

Congrats on your award, and thanks for the pictures. I especially enjoy the pictures of the racecars. I've gotta see that race someday. Monterey this past year, maybe Watkins Glenn next. :)
Thanks again

Thankyou and your welcome. Its funny I'm thinking the same thing as you about Monterey next year. If you come next year make sure you are there for the festival downtown on Friday. It is an event thats not to be missed.

I love seeing other peoples pictures of events I can't attend, and I like to return the favor when I can. Kinda lets us be there a little. I love the old racecars too.

Hi Duntov
congrats on your trophy! :beer

I'm sure it's a great feeling to hear your name called and to go up and get the award. I never win any so wouldn't know myself ;LOL but it's just going and having fun that's important to me and checking out all the other nice cars.

The pics look great.

Since you like to look at other event pics, you are welcome to visit my site and go to the Corvette pages section and their is a subsection just on some various Car shows if you want to look at some.

BTW, I've thought of you and your '57's a lot over the winter as my painter has had a '57 in his shop he's working on that I would see everytime I'd go check on my car. Last time I was there a few days before Carlisle another one showed up so he has two 57's in the shop now. Both are long term project cars that are body-off's.

Barry,

Thanks, I always check out the links on your site. Very cool.

It was the first non racing trophy I ever won, and yes it did feel pretty good.:D
I'm not in it for trophies and couldn't tell you the last time I entered a show.
This was a nice show and shine type show with a lot of friendly people at it.
It reminded me of the type I used to go to with my Dad when I was a kid.
