What style carpet do you have in your car? I have the option of loop or cutpile for my 70. Is one style more durable than the other? When you bought your carpet did you buy the kind with padding attached or without the padding?

option depends on year & interior...

in 1973 my vette had 80/20 loop , so i put new identical back in.....pile cut is for deluxe interiors..you need to research deeper if you want to know exactyly what was the norm for youryear and model....the carpet i bought had pad attached and was cut to fit perfectly...i did install reflecteck insulation and an addition pad about 1/4 inch thick...used dict tape to keep it all together.....it helps keep the heat down, but eventually heat finds its way thru....and it helped alot for sound.

Good luck...Chas:w

The std carpet for vinyl seated interiors was 80-20.

The deluxe interior came with plush carpet, wood grain & carpet on the door panels & console, leather seats.

The 80/20 is much more durable and crush resistant.
