Caster-Camber guage

yup, tried it

you get what you pay for

I'll tell 'ya, search the archives here and the "other place", lots of posts about how to set alignment....

...except for the trailing arms, which take me FOREVER and only good enough to get to an alignment shop, that's one of the projects that i farm out to an alleged pro

The right place to set caster is on an alignment rack; it interacts with camber, and you need to be able to deal with both at the same time. Lasers are a lot more accurate than bubbles. :)

There's nothing "special" about front end alignment on a Corvette - they're the same as millions of other ordinary GM cars; any shop that wants a "premium" rate for a simple front end alignment because it's a Corvette is trying to rip you off. Only the rear is a nightmare :eyerole .

So how did they do it back in the 60's without a laser? (both front and back)

In production, it was done with precision electro-mechanical tooling that compressed the suspension to design ride height while the adjustments were made, and it was done on the frame line, long before Body Drop; only the front toe-in was done on a completed car after it came off the line. :)
