Casting numbers on a DNE 4+3 to identify year?

Are there any numbers Ican use to identify the year on a DNE 4+3?
Does anyone know how much one of these bad boys weighs?

How many switches on the side cover ?
(not including the reverse switch on the case )

I count 3

TOTAL. Which one is the reverse connector? The one toward the tail shaft?

If you have only one on the side cover where the selectors are ,as shown below
it narrows the trans down to '85, '87 or '88
