rear end

Remember,

I asked Dave Hill at Carslile if C6 would be a revolution or an evolution. His reply implied evolution all the way, although he did not repeat my wording.

So, I'd guess a big rear again, and a rear-mounted transaxle with center tunnel, hydroformed rails, etc. These parts will probably not change at all from C5 to C6.

No offense intended, but ... DUH. We have know for a very long time that this is the case. Certainly the spy shots and long lead previews of the of the sister ship XLR confirmed the above info many, many months ago. At question then, and still to today are:

1. Final design of the body
2. Will the interior REALLY be befitting a 45-58k sports car?
3. What will be the final HP of the LS2 and the LS7, and how will they mechanically achieve the increases?
4. Will the MSRC (magnetic fluid shocks) be refined enough to dial in Z-51 level of handling when desired?
5. Will it be priced beyond good value?
6. Will the paint quality improve significantly?
7. Will the Z06 have an AL HF Rail frame?
8. Will the Z06 really cream the Viper?

I'm sure there are other open questions, but not the issues you stated above.

1. I seriously doubt that would be the final design of the body.

2. I hope that the interior is a vast improvement over the C5's plastic interior. If it's anything close to the C5's interior, it's definitely not worth it.

3. They were going to bump up the displacement right? I think someone said something about Ted Williams' batting average, he hit over 400 one year and that's probably what they're going to start at.

5. I think that's the most important question of all. Is it going to be a big jump? The C5 verts are going for ~$50K and if the C6 is only a minor improvement with more HP, how much more are people willing to reasonably shell out? Have they estimated a MSRP?

Edmond,

That's what I'm saying - these are all questions that plague us. But we all know that it is based on the C5 structure and have know this for a looooong time.

I don't need no stinkin' retro!:D

after the Jan showing we will be laughing at ourselves

which HAS been the history................

Does anybody know if anything has been said about the oil consumption issues -- I have read on this forum that some C5’s will use a quart of oil after only 2000 miles of driving.

It would be nice if GM addressed the oil issue with the new motor.
