CD changer install

I'm thinking about hooking up a FM modulated CD changer in my Vette (already have it from another car). I found both the antenna wire adapters online, so that's set. I was wondering if you think I'd be able to just splice into the wires coming between the radio and the receiver unit (behind the passenger seat), or if I have to run them from the wires going into the back of the radio. It'd make the wiring much simplier if it would work... especially since I JUST put the radio back in. What do you think?
Thanks!
Oliver

If I am not mistaken (depends on the year of your vehicle), the antenna connects to the module behind the passenger seat, not at the actual dash head unit. But since you just put the radio back in, obviously the antenna is going to the dash unit huh? ;)

Anyway, you could splice into the antenna wire, but I would solder the connections and then insulate them.

Yeah, the antenna plug is behind the passenger seat (got my adapters yesterday).
I was actually wondering about cutting into the power/ground wires back there (my bad, was not very clearly articulated in the original post).

You should be able to tap into the power and ground behind the passenger seat. Since the changer does not have a power amp, it is only going to draw 2-3 Amps while operating. Probably closer to 2 Amps.
