I'm not in too good a mood.. the cig. lighter door hinge broke on my console.. I am hoping to make a repair to it instead of buying a new one which I don't have the cash for..

But anyhow I my question is.. can someone tell me the proceedure how to remove the Glove Box/Center Console on my 95.. I would like to remove it so i can mount some switches inside for my neon and such... I'm just hoping the seats do not need to come out to do it.. other wise I may just go another route.. Thanks..

Just the trim pieces?

First, Unbolt the hinge for the Glove box door and move it out of the way (back hatch area). Then you will need to remove the center console bezel. Do this by lifting the carper int he console box at the 2 front corners, there will be 2 screws to remove (7mm hex I think). Also remove the 7mm bolt in the front cup holder and the console plate should slide back about a 1/4 inch and remove.

If you need to remove the center bezel around the radio, there are 2 7mm bolts at the bottom and you will also have to remove the upper center vent and there will be a hidden bolt for the center bezel

Be sure you lay the glove box top face down or up as there is a mercury switch which will keep the light on and run your batt. down if you have it off to long. ( Don't ask me how I know that!!) Mine hinge broke too and all I did was to make a patch piece from another scrap piece of plastic, drill a hole in it to slide over the pin sticking out where the original hinge was, and then glue the scrap piece onto what remains of the old hinge. When you get it off this will make more sense. Works fine now.
