How much work is involved in changing the differential in a C5?

Jefe

Hi there,
It takes me about 5 hours, to correctly change the differential, and realign the vehicle.
Yes, you must remove the rear subframe, and then realign the vehicle.

Thanks c4c5. As I suspected, it can not be done by a backyard mechanic like myself.

What if your just changing the gear inside? Can it be done without removeing so much stuff?

Hi there,
In order to change the gearing, you will still have to remove the diff.
Setup is so critical on this differential, that it takes me 4 hours to correctly swap gears in this diff, once it is out of the car.
