I have a 2000 coupe and want to put a set of magnesium wheels off a 2004 vette on it. I am wondering if the tire pressure sensor will work?

correct, the sensors changed for 2k and btw are less expensive than the early C5 sensor. Keep the sensors on the same corner or you will have to go through the learning procedure to reset. If you are swapping wheels complete with new sensors, just go through the learn procedure which is quick and easy.

The first generation sensor works on 97- 00.
The second generation sensor works 01-04.
To answer your question, the 04 sensors will not work on your 00 C5.

Yep, they even look different.

Notice the stepped grommet on the newer style, whereas the 97-00 use an O-ring.

yea, just retrain em with a magnet - takes 45 seconds

The tire sensors - Replace the newer tire sensors with your original ones and retrain them with a magnet. Lots of info on the web about doing this.

What do you mean "just retrain em with a magnet"?
You don't really have to reprogram them as long as they go back to the corners they came from.
Where are you located?
If you want to come by the house I'll show you how it's done.
I'm at Brownsboro Rd. & Rudy Ln. by the interstate.
