This car is the strangest one I have ever owned! :crazy I walked by the car a few minutes ago and noticed the check engine light is on. The car is not running and no one is in it. I have the keys in my pocket! :ugh I get in , put in the key and turn it on and the light goes out, turn the key off and the light comes back on? :confused HELP Can't find anything in the wiring diagrams on the check engine light.

Is the Battery Wired backwards? :L Sorry couldn't help my self !
Hope you "Get E'r Done" and fixed that would drive me nuts.

The CEL is driven by the ECM and should not be on if there is power off to the ignition switch. (Like you didn't know that already.) If you can find an ECM diagram somewhere, it should indicate which connection powers the CEL.
Have you checked to see if any codes are stored that might indicate a problem with the ECM?

You haven't parked in any Indian burial grounds or anything like that have you?
Aside from that, I guess I would start looking for signs of mice chewing on your wires.
