check engine light

I have been getting a check engine light and today got the following code:
PO410 HC. Also AIR SYSTEM was displayed. Could someone tell me what this entails and how can I fix it, or do I take it to Mr. Goodwrench? Thanks in advance. Vette is 2000.

HI there,
Your AIR injection system for your emissions is probably not working correctly.
I would check to see if you have a whining noise coming from the left front part of your car when you start it up cold first thing in the morning.

Emissions Problem

C4/C5, Thank you for the timely response concerning my code problem. I don't notice anything abnormal like a whine when I first start the car after setting. I thought that I might have gotten a bad tank of gas during the hurricanes that we experienced here in FL. I drove the car to Maine right after the last hurricance and that was when the last "check engine" light came on. I guess that I will have to get the car to the dealership ASAP. How involved is the fix and what can I expect for costs? Thanks again for your time and effort.

HI there,
This code is for the emissions system during cold start conditions. The whining would NOT be abnormal. You may hear it for up to 2 mins when you start the vehicle cold. This would be indicating that the pump is actually working.
This will NOT cause any driving problems with your car, nor will it compromise the cars reliability.
Speculation aside, it could be as simple as a fuse, or something more complex.
Cost can be as little as one hour labor or as intensive as a few hundred dollars.
