So here in the Northeast, it's time to start cleaning up the car for spring. So I
had to charge the battery to get it started. I left the charger on for a couple
hours, then started the car. There was a little smoke, but nothing consistant.
The car started right up. But the battery still needs more charging. But when
I startd the car, the 'CHECK ENGINE' light on the DIC came on steady. Should I
continue to charge the battery, go for a ride, and see if the light goes out?

PS There is only 12K miles on the car.

How concerned should I be over this light?

Thanks,

HI there,
Press reset to clear the screen. Then, push #4 and hold, then push the #1 button 4 times. You will see 10-PCM, and then a code number. Please post the numbers you see, and let us know what you have.
We will be able to tell you what exactly is the concern.

thanks c4c5specialist. the weather has benn nice here in Boston, so when I took the car out for a ride, the 'Check Engine' light went off. I think it was
due to the battery not charged enough. There may have been an emission
problem also. Anyway, the light is off, the car is running well, and I'm a happy
corvette enthusiast. Come on summer !!!!!
