Two weeks ago my check engine light lit up. I checked and found the code P0157H "low voltage, oxygen sensor #2". I cleared the code at the time and have driven it several hundred miles since. This morning it happened again. Once more, I got a P0157H.

I have two questions:
1)If the code is freshly generated (as indicated by the check engine light), why the "H" (history)??

2)What could be causing the low voltage condition?

Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks,
Dave

Dave,
The fact that the code comes up as "H" only means that it isn't active at the time you pull the code. If was active the last time you started up the engine, it might not be problematic right now. That's no guarantee that it won't be a problem later.

The low voltage may mean that you have a bad sensor, not that you have some electrical issue in the car. You might want to do a forum search on Oxygen Sensor and see if similar circumstances to this come up.

Thanks Patrick! Great suggestion, I'll check into that.
