I am sorry if this is a dumb question but the brake light is on and i have tried everything to get it to shut off new switches brake pads and it is still on. Yesterday i had the tire off and there was a chip on the brake router. The car brakes fine but would this be the cause of my brake light.
thanks

Brake light

I haven't been diligent and searched the shop manual, but the brake light usually results from the parking brake not being fully released, the front/rear pressure balance being off or the ABS system needing attention. What year do you have and does it have ABS?
PS how big and where is the chip in the rotor?
