I own a 71 4speed 350 and have a troubling "chirping" sound that speeds up with rpm's and slows with rpm's. It only does it when the car gets warmed up good. All gauges working fine. What do you think?:TALK

Does the chirping continue when the car is stopped and you rev the engine? If so then it is probably the tach. If not, then probably the speedo.

I agree

Update: Tonight I unhooked the tach cable at the distributor (cable is practically new) and saw that whomever installed it gave it a little grease on the end, suppose that's fine, and I went ahead and shot a little graphite into the cable for good measure. Thanks everyone for your comments. This is my first shark and so I'm a bit green on this stuff. You guys are making this much easier than it could be.:cool

Check Both you tach cable and your speedo cable b/c i belive it would be your speedo if the tach was still lubed i pulled my speedo cable out this weekend and it was bone dry so i took and lubed my 2 speedo cables up and they don't chirp anymore.

What did you use to lubricate it with? Is graphite the best choice or motor oil?
