circuit breakers

Hi, Recently my power door locks/power seats stopped working, I checked the circuit breaker and it was "HOT". Changed it and every thing seems to be working ok. My question is, do breakers fail that way? Seems odd the breaker was hot to the touch, but the seats and locks were dead. Any thoughts, anyone ? Also, everyone have a safe 4th of July. Thanks

The "breaker" probably died of old age.
