Clean the Compresser?

Does anyone know of a way to clean up / shine up the AC compresser on a 92? I dont really want to drain the system to remove, take apart and polish it like I did some other parts. Mine is not a show car, but the A/C looks bad.

For all the aluminum Lines(refrigerant lines and all others) u can use Very fine #00 steel wool, it polishes aluminum great, then go over with Mothers metal polish(small red canister), these steps work great for a superior polished look, as far as the compressor goes , that is coarse type housing, get some simple green and scrub with a toothbrush, this will take any oil or dirt off of the casting, as far as making it look like chrome, that would have to be removed for that procedure, the steel wool procedure works great on all aluminum surfaces, front control arms etc.. Good luck:beer

For extra tough greasy parts use Castrol Super Clean...the purple stuff....try it full strength and water down as necessary.

I heard of people using a Dremmel to clean and polish rough aluminum surfaces with a fine wire wheel attachment. They have many different tips for all cracks and crevices. I geuss this is good if you don't want to remove certain parts.
