cleaning piston heads?

since a engine is a heat pump you will lose some HP till the piston get recoated to help hold the heat in the combustion chamber. that is why race engines have coated pistons and combustion chambers.

Agreed with that, but this isnt a search for fractional HP for 100ths of seconds saved. Just a street motor that doesnt need old carbon to cause any bad reads on his new set up, sticking to valve faces or seats, dropping into compression ring lands or other less desirable situations. Probably not necessary but not hurtfull either.
