cleaning under the hood

Just stay away from the distributor. You dont have optispark so thats good.degrease it with whatever you like. After that spray all of the aluminum parts (ecspecially the intake)with eagleone acid etching wheel cleaner, let sit for a few minutes but not dry then rinse off. After dry spray it down with CD2 engine detailer and wipe off the excess.Trust me youll be happy.

planning on cleaning the engine and such in my 87 vert, anything to avoid or hints?
Stay away from your distributor, IAC (idle air control valve) altanator, your year car does not have a opti spark, so you dont have to worry about that, try to avoid your aircleaner also unless you have a cold air induction system, then you dont have to worry about that.
and last but not least, which I dont think you have to worry about this one because of the year of car you have, the computer, but I think yours is located under the passenger side dash, the newer years have theres inside the engine compartment near the windshield on the drivers side.
Thats all that comes to mind at the moment.
