now i know i know what you are gonna say...... holy buckets another what should i use on my wheels thread....and you are right.... but i was just curious.... i used to use A2Z wheel cleaner which seemed to work really well at taking off brake dust but apparently there must have been something pretty bad for you in it cause a couple years back they changed the formula and the name of it.... now about the only one out there that even works half as good (in my opinion) is all tire and wheel cleaner..... but in all honesty its pretty much a waste of time and money, might as well just use your regular wash bucket at the end of the wash....so now maybe im missing something, anyone have a particular brand that they like, i know there was one a couple years back but it couldnt be purchased in ny and from what i read it worked incredible!.... ive got 6 cars i have to detail at least once a month to keep in good graces with the wife and my babysitters aka grandma & grandpa :D

I've found a very inexpensive way to clean my tires and rims ;) Most folks find it hard to believe, UNTIL they try it :rotfl

There is probably a "Dollar Store" near you (they seem to be everywhere) find a bottle of Awesome Cleaner ;) . It is a yellow colored liquid in a squirt bottle.

The raised white lettering on the '81 and our Montero come White Clean usually with just a spraying, sometimes I use a brush, but most times it doesn't need any elbow grease ;) I even use it to clean around the engine compartment, read the label, it is very amazing stuff, and the price is Right $1.00 per bottle (I have a bottle or 2 in my shop, at least 1 in the garage, and ma use's it on stains when she does laundry :D (it doesn't do very good on glass, but it is "Awesome" on almost everything else)

ive actually used that stuff (but never on my tires/wheels) and it actually did work pretty well considering its cost.... looks like im off to the dollar store!!:D

I'll have to try that stuff too. I use Westley's on the tires but it does require some scrubbing like most whitewall/tire cleaners. The wife's Equinox has the polished forged wheels option which are coated. They clean with just wash bucket water like the rest of the car. That's all I use on the '81 also. They get polished every other year or so but no special cleaner.

I Use liquid Dawn dishwashing soap in a spray bottle. I scrub the tires with a brush, and use a rag to clean the wheels.
