I have rescently noticed a clicking type noise shifting from park to reverse or park to Drive or drive to reverse and reverse to drive, I can also rock car back and forth to get noise coming from left rear wheel, this car has 1/2 sharfts from rear end is this where problem is? or does this car have a spline drive inserted in to wheel bearing housing that could cause this? I was curious if this was common, about 87k on the car now, can someone point me in the right direction to possible causes? thanks so much

HI there,
You might have some oxidation built up between the splines of the halfshaft and the hub itself, creating the condition.

Not uncommon and is easily fixed with some rust penetrant

good suggestion, I used some PB buster penetrater, the best by far, and after 5 sprays and soaking in between, used mallet or hammer to pound end shaft, at first before spray would not budge, the right side moved in and out like a shock, so after an hour plus, it freed itself up and pounded it again, acted like right side, in and out, so bolted back up and suprise, no more clicking noise. missed doing burnouts and thought maybe CV UV joint was going and did not want catestrophic failure.. problem solved works like new, put white lithium grease insude to prevent that crap again on both sides, cheers, and thanks man...... c4c5specialist rocks.......
