Ok now I know what my clicking probleme is..
I got a "click" sound when brake or turn hard after my clutch work ( clutch engage ).
And when I apply the clutch pedal, 5mm is enough, the sound dissapear.

Had the FW machined down, and a new GM clutch and PP installed.
The machine shop know about the dampening material so they used a "water" based kind of oil , what ever...
I think that the material the machine shop took away from my FW whas to much and causing the throwout bearing to rattle against the pressure plate fingers.
Now how to solve this?
I dont think it can damage anything, but its pretty annoying. So let it be?
Or mayby I can "file" 0.02" on the PP bolt holes, allowing the PP to come a bit closer to the FW to make up for the "play"? Sounds like a creative solutions, and mayby it can damage something?
Or mayby I can make the throwout bearing "stick" thigher to the PP using some kind of brass tube on the clip that holds it to the PP ( se pic ).
Or get a new FW for $900 yeah right...
A used FW from the scrapyard and have it balance just like my old FW? Is that hard to do?

Well thanks for reading...

Devilfish, would you please reduce the size of that picture to about a quarter of its current size? Please. ;)

_ken :w

Devil, you're playing a dangerous game having that PP resurfaced from what I've seen. :) (I wish they were not so much $$$$$.)

yeah I shoulden have it done. well....
Im thinking of getting a used FW from a 93, and have it balanced like my old fw..

Regards

Hi there,
I would really not recommend the used flywheel in this case, or ever for that matter.
Based on harmonics within the engine, the damper material degrades over the life of the clutch assembly. The damper material uses itself, to stop harmful vibration from hurting other components and the like.
There is no telling what kind of shape the dual mass flywheel is in.
I would suggest that this course of action not be taken, for you might have to go in again.
The phrase, you get what you pay for, is in line here.

Cant I "test" the status on the used FW using the metod in the service manual?

Ive seen som singel mass conversion guys that have the same probleme.
Could a adjustebal pivot ball help?

Hi there,
In order to have the same drivability and vibration correction from the system. A dual mass flywheel is the only way to correctly make your driveline work its best.
I would not attempt to single mass the flywheel, just because of the horrendous engagement that it will cause, and driving the car will be much harder.
Unfortunately, there is no documented way to test a flywheel, either from GM or ZF.
