Clicking when starting

Last year i noticed that when the car was hot, the starter would make a clicking noise while turning over. The car would start but the clicking noise would occur (I am assuming its the starter making the noise). This year, it seems to be making the clicking sound when hot OR cold. Still, the engine turns over and the car starts, but with a long trip planned this summer, I want to get this sorted out to avoid any hassles along the way.

Any ideas?

starter could be loose or wearing out. might be arcing at the solenoid,. either way it needs to be looked into. Some day soon, its just not going to make any noises....
